Job Title: Senior Underwriter - Construction and Energy

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Construction and Energy team at AXA XL. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for developing and structuring tailor-made solutions for our clients, while ensuring that our underwriting guidelines and policies are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and structure tailor-made solutions for clients, considering underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Review submissions, terms and conditions, and loss history to determine the degree of risk for each account.
  • Coordinate with various business divisions to support our businesses and determine quote or declination of risk.
  • Calculate rates and premium charges using approved rating models.
  • Develop and modify policy wording in accordance with delegated underwriting authority.
  • Market to producers to secure new and renewal business and initiate opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Support service standards in delivery of Construction and Energy products and services.
Requirements:
  • Extensive Construction Property (Builders Risk) and Operational Energy (Renewables, Power etc.) Property Underwriting Experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with internal teams and external brokers.
  • Excellent comprehension and work experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual (English/French) Skills are an asset.
  • Knowledge of Primary Casualty including Wrap-Ups and Excess and Umbrella liability is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree required with advanced education and/or professional designations including but not limited to FCIP, CRIS preferred but not required.
