Job Title: Switchboard Operator Registration Clerk

We are seeking a skilled Switchboard Operator Registration Clerk to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, B.C.

Job Summary:

This is a Casual opportunity, which means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. As a Switchboard Operator Registration Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of switchboard, registration, and cashier duties, including:

  • Operating the switchboard and public address system
  • Receiving and directing patients and visitors
  • Responding to and monitoring hospital alarms and emergency codes
  • Maintaining physician on-call/vacation lists and other hospital staff
  • Patient registration and admitting clerical duties
  • Cashier duties, including receiving payments and issuing change and receipts
  • Receiving, checking, and depositing patient valuables for safekeeping
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Confirmation of completion of Grade 12
  • A current Typing Test of 45 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • Your Resume indicating one year's recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A Cover Letter stating your availability
