Fleet Maintenance and Repair Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance and Repair Technician to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a key member of our Fleet Services department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to the maintenance and repair of our fleet vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic inspections and perform general mechanical overhaul and repair work on vehicle systems and components
  • Perform scheduled preventive daily maintenance inspections and repairs on vehicle systems and components
  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including vehicles powered by gas, diesel, propane, or natural gas
  • Work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively with peers and managers as part of a maintenance repair team
  • Use manual and electronic diagnostic equipment, as well as personal computers with the ability to use the Fleet Management Information System
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Truck and Coach Technician 310T apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Municipal Fleet or similar truck and coach environment
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician 310T
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted DZ class driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
