Job Title: Security Consultant

Ainsworth Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Security Consultant to join our team. As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for executing the supply and installation of various security system projects, including engineering design, programming, commissioning, and client training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with project turnover meetings to gather information for engineering design.
  • Develop panel layouts, network layouts, and wiring diagrams using Ainsworth engineering tools.
  • Select materials, including access control modules and peripheral devices, to meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop commissioning checklists for project startup, checkout, and commissioning.
  • Program and functionally test all components within a complete security system installation.
  • Maintain personal accessibility and communicate with field technicians, office sales, and clients/vendors.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure timely issuance of as-built documents and project-specific close out documents.
  • Maintain knowledge of various security solutions, including hardware, software, tools, and applications.
  • Analyze and advise owners and contractors regarding appropriate security application strategy and available options.
  • Locate and use resources on issues beyond personal technical expertise.
  • Participate in team and Engineering meetings, contributing input and feedback to the management team.
  • Work within a cross-functional environment to drive improvements in company processes and methods.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Security System Installation, Design, and Commissioning.
  • Progressive experience in a technical role within the integrated security or low voltage industry.
  • Possess strong understanding of Security System Solutions to accurately appraise existing systems components and recommend technical solutions.
  • Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of integrated projects.
  • Knowledgeable regarding governing building, electrical, and mechanical codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of the entire Building Technology offering.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership skills to support direct and indirect reports and broader business directives.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, technical, and financial abilities.
  • Working experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software programs and energy-related tools.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Display strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • The ability to work in a complex fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write in both French and English.
  • Vendor Certification in low voltage systems and valid TQ certification preferred.
  • Previous experience leading installations and design at the site level preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and background check and security clearance.
