Dishware Specialist

About the Role

This is a critical role that plays a vital part in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our residents. As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the dietary areas, including ware-washing, pot washing, and sanitation of the department. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager to maintain high standards of quality and adhere to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
• Monitor and record the temperature of the dish machine at least twice daily, reporting any deficiencies to the Dining Services Manager.
• Ensure correct usage of chemicals in the dish machine and pot washing areas, cleaning them thoroughly as needed.
• Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as required, breaking down cardboard boxes and preparing them for recycling or disposal.
• Buss dishes in the dining room between seatings, vacuuming the area after meal service.
• Maintain effective communication with coworkers, residents, and guests, addressing resident concerns during dining service.

Requirements

• Minimum grade 12 education required.
• Minimum 1 year's experience in a dishwashing position preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in English.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work well with others in a team environment and independently.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment under hot and humid conditions.
