About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team at Haven Stony Plain as a Primary Care Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional results.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in family medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to collect medical information from patients, examine their health condition, and develop treatment plans that meet their needs.

Responsibilities
  • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals
  • Examine patients' health condition to identify diseases and injuries
  • Develop healthy habits and wellness strategies for patients
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment
  • Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
  • Perform routine surgery and assist other medical professionals as needed
  • Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
  • Participate in healthcare policy and planning
  • Advise patients on healthcare options
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns to government authorities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • Licenses and certifications as required by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Benefits

Haven Stony Plain offers a competitive salary of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. You will also receive:

Additional Information

This is a full-time position requiring 40-50 hours of work per week. You must be willing to relocate for this opportunity and have a valid criminal record check. A medical exam and basic security clearance are also required.
