Policy and Project Lead, Digital User Experience

The Strategy and Governance Branch within the Communications and Engagement Division at the Manitoba Government is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Policy and Project Lead, Digital User Experience position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving digital excellence across the division and throughout the government.



Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and lead digital policy and framework development to ensure alignment with government priorities.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on complex digital topics and sensitive issues.
  • Lead the development of digital user experience strategies and ensure accessibility across all government channels.
  • Foster collaboration and consensus among stakeholders to drive digital innovation.
  • Monitor the implementation of digital policy decisions and provide support to steering committees and oversight bodies.


Requirements


  • Post-secondary education in communications, design, computer science, or related field with relevant work experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing and leading digital strategies, usability, accessibility, and promoting best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading online experience design within a government or public sector environment.
  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to lead others through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to develop, negotiate, and foster collaboration and consensus.


The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital governance, user experience, and accessibility principles. They will be able to lead and coordinate policy development, communities of practice, skill development, reporting, and transformation projects to drive digital excellence across the government.
