Machinist Craftsman

Soo Foundry is a dynamic manufacturing company seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Machinist to work in our production department. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various machine tools, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring high-quality products.

• Operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to manufacture precision parts
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements
• Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
• Set up and operate boring machines, broaching machines, drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, and sawing machines
• Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines and computer-aided design (CAD)

• Machinist Trade Certification
• Machinist Red Seal Endorsement
• Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate
• Experience with measuring tools, such as micrometers, callipers, gauges, and verniers
• Knowledge of CNC machines and CAD software
