Heavy Equipment Operator

Yes Concrete Cutting and Coring Inc. is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Excavator Operator to operate heavy equipment, including backhoe excavators and loaders, in a fast-paced outdoor environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate heavy equipment, including backhoe excavators and loaders, to excavate and move materials.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Measure distance, volume, length, and weight to ensure accurate excavation and material handling.
- Understand and follow safety protocols, including the use of material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance.
- Secure special attachments to equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems to power equipment.
The successful candidate will work outdoors in a hot and dusty environment, with frequent overtime required. The work site will be at various locations, and the candidate must be able to travel to these locations as required.
Requirements:- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent overtime required.
- Mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
- Diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- Mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
