Job Title: TIG Welder

We are seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our team at APS Metal Industries. As a TIG welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on a variety of metal alloys.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in TIG welding, with experience working with aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and other metals. You will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines and gas welding machines
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment as needed
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in TIG welding
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a variety of environments
