Brannon Steel, a family-owned company in Etobicoke, is hiring a CAD Operator/CNC Programmer to work on day shift (Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm) at its manufacturing facility. The salary for this position starts from $21 per hour.

The ideal candidate will apply mechanical design principles to convert customer drawings and specifications into production CAD files for various industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret customer designs and specifications, ensuring accurate application of mechanical design principles.
  • Operate industrial CAD / CAM software (AutoCAD, ProNest) to output production drawings and layouts, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Perform daily maintenance of the plate inventory system, optimizing material usage and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with sales and engineering staff regarding work requirements, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Provide essential information and support to production staff, promoting a productive work environment.
  • Maintain strict document control, quality, and traceability standards, guaranteeing compliance.
  • Accurately maintain electronic and paper files, facilitating easy access to crucial documentation.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical design or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD / CAM applications, specifically AutoCAD and ProNest.
  • Familiarity with both imperial and metric systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and GD&T.
  • Conversational-level proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Able to work independently based on assigned priorities, meeting deadlines.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
