Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clinical services, quality assurance, commissioning, and development of new techniques and protocols in Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high standards for Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging policies, processes, procedures, and systems for service delivery to patients.
- Support clinical services, quality assurance, commissioning, and development of new techniques and protocols.
- Contribute to the accredited Nuclear Medicine Residency Training Program and training of Medical Physicists.
- Participate in academic endeavors, including teaching programs, developing original research programs, and providing regular contributions to medical physics research.
- Supervise trainees in research and provide leadership in the radiation protection program.
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in Medical Physics or Medical Health Physics.
- Certified or eligible for certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM), American Board of Radiology (ABR), American Board Medical Physicist (ABMP), or American Academy of Health Physics (AAHP) or other Canadian recognized equivalencies.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the imaging and physics aspects of x-ray.
- Demonstrated commitment to high clinical standards, strong interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialization in Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography.
- Experience in teaching adult learners.
- Minimum of 3 years leadership/management role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
