Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef by following specific nutrition plans and guidelines.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas regularly to maintain cleanliness and organization, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food by providing guidance and support to help them develop their culinary skills.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed, maintaining inventory levels and tracking expenses.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers by delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment by accurately recording transactions and updating records regularly.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas thoroughly, adhering to established cleaning schedules and protocols.
  • Organize buffets and banquets by coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manage kitchen operations efficiently, optimizing workflows, and minimizing waste.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to train and motivate staff effectively.
  • Physical stamina to withstand fast-paced environment and repetitive tasks.
