About the Role:
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Counsel/Prosecutors in the Northwest Territories Regional Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prosecute Federal and Criminal Code offences in the Northwest Territories
- Conduct criminal or quasi-criminal litigation
- Make appearances in court as counsel, articling student, or law student
- Review files of high-risk offenders and apply for dangerous or long-term offender status following conviction
Requirements:
- Recent experience in the conduct of criminal or quasi-criminal litigation
- Basic knowledge of criminal law and procedures
- Sound knowledge of the role and practices of Crown Counsel in criminal litigation
- Medical clearance
