Job Summary

The TEP GROUP seeks a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for utilizing engineering principles to understand the effects of solid and rock mechanics, geology, and construction on the physical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client projects, including correspondence, problem resolution, and final reports to meet required deadlines.
  • Monitor geotechnical site characterization activities, including setting up subcontracts with drillers and testing laboratories.
  • Perform geotechnical site characterization activities, logging of geotechnical field explorations, and coordination of field and laboratory testing.
  • Prepare geotechnical data and complex recommendation reports.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and assist with drawing, specification, and cost-estimate preparation.
  • Supervise and mentor lower-level technical staff, field crews, and Geotechnical Engineer I and II's.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 2-5 years of experience working as a Geotechnical Engineer.
  • Professional Engineer certification required.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and on their own.
  • Ability to complete design work using CAD or manual drafting techniques.
  • gINT geotechnical engineering software experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with different geographical regions.

Work Environment

The Geotechnical Engineer will work approximately 25% of the time in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature, working under normal construction conditions. The remaining 75% will be performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, working under normal office conditions.
