Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Farm Labourer to join our team at St. Soldier Farms Inc. as a key member of our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Maintenance: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Crop Management: Clear fields of wood and stones to prepare for planting and cultivation.
  • Animal Care: Develop and guide the behavior of farm animals to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Quality Control: Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to maximize market value.
  • Task Management: Organize tasks to accomplish work efficiently and effectively.
  • Animal Feeding: Perform livestock feeding and ensure the health and well-being of animals.
  • Pig Care: Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication, identification of piglets, and castration.
  • Crop Cultivation: Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to ensure optimal growth and yield.
  • Exhibition Preparation: Prepare cattle for exhibition to showcase their quality and value.
  • Health and Safety: Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Agricultural Services: Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting to support farm operations.
  • Supervision: Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure efficient and effective work practices.
  • Monitoring: Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed to prevent disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.
  • Facility Maintenance: Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops to ensure optimal working conditions.
