The Opportunity
As a key member of the Wajax team, the Shop Foreman plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team of employees, address customer inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and schedule employees to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, maintaining a consistent flow of work and ensuring that tasks are completed to standard.
- Verify the accuracy of time cards and ensure that employee descriptions reflect the work assigned.
- Provide technical assistance and support to employees, including troubleshooting and training.
- Organize and schedule labor in the workshop or field, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Train apprentices in proper work procedures and ensure that they are equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Verify the quality of completed projects and ensure that they meet the required standards.
- Develop and implement quotes for repairs and maintenance, ensuring that they are accurate and competitive.
- Research warranties and ensure that manufacturers are held accountable for their products.
- Ensure that Pre-Delivery Inspections are completed and that all necessary documentation is in place.
- Foster a culture of safety within the workplace, providing leadership and guidance to employees to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Continuously promote health and safety awareness, providing instruction, information, training, and supervision to ensure that employees perform their duties safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of relevant leadership experience.
- Trade certification or Journeyman Red Seal with On/Off Highway Experience.
- Detroit/Allison experience and proficiency with computers and diagnostic software are highly valued in this position.
- Ability to lead a team of Shop and Field Technicians.
