Job Title: Clinical Addictions Counsellor, Masters Degree

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Addictions Counsellor to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our addiction services team, you will provide assessment, intervention, and referral services to individuals and families affected by substance use and addiction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for clients with addiction issues
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to support clients in achieving their recovery goals
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders and partners to raise awareness about addiction issues and promote recovery
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • Three years of experience in addiction counselling, including group therapy and working with clients with concurrent disorders
  • Valid Class V British Columbia driver's license and access to a personal vehicle

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
