About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hairstylist to join our team at Capitol Hair Studio Inc. As a Hairstylist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hair care services to our clients, including cutting, styling, and coloring hair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut and Style Hair: Cut and style hair according to client's instructions or preferences, using a variety of techniques and tools.
  • Shampoo and Treat Hair: Shampoo customers' hair, and provide other hair treatments such as waving, straightening, and tinting.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise and train other hair stylists and staff members, ensuring that they meet the high standards of our salon.
  • Apply Hair Extensions: Apply hair extensions, clean and style wigs and hair pieces, and perform other related tasks.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting clients, taking orders, and handling payments.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.
  • Tasks: Cut and trim hair, shampoo customers' hair, shave and trim beards and mustaches, and provide other hair treatments.
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
  • Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, iron waving/curling, extensions, and roller setting.
  • Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, dyes/tints, frosting, and streaking/highlights.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years, permanent position, 35 hours per week, and English language.
