Mount Allison University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Admissions Counsellor - Student Information Systems to join our team. As a key member of our recruitment and admissions team, you will play a critical role in connecting with prospective students, parents, and guidance counsellors to support the university's annual enrolment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment and Admissions Strategy
- Develop and implement annual communication plans to engage with prospective students and stakeholders.
- Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software tools to support recruitment and admission strategies.
- Counsel prospective students and their parents on the university application and admission process.
- Assess applications for admission and make scholarship recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in admissions processes and data management.
- Analyze and advise on recruitment and admission data to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop recruitment messaging and marketing materials to support university-wide initiatives.
- Liaise with marketing and communications teams to develop and implement communication plans.
- Train and assist other team members on recruitment and admissions systems and processes.
- A university degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Commerce, or Marketing.
- At least three years of experience in marketing/communication and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- At least one year of experience in university admissions, recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong intercultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Student Information Systems (SIS) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Experience in project management to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
