Job Summary

Mount Allison University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Admissions Counsellor - Student Information Systems to join our team. As a key member of our recruitment and admissions team, you will play a critical role in connecting with prospective students, parents, and guidance counsellors to support the university's annual enrolment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Recruitment and Admissions Strategy
  • Develop and implement annual communication plans to engage with prospective students and stakeholders.
  • Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software tools to support recruitment and admission strategies.
Student Counselling and Support
  • Counsel prospective students and their parents on the university application and admission process.
  • Assess applications for admission and make scholarship recommendations.
Process Improvement and Data Management
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in admissions processes and data management.
  • Analyze and advise on recruitment and admission data to inform strategic decisions.
Marketing and Communications
  • Develop recruitment messaging and marketing materials to support university-wide initiatives.
  • Liaise with marketing and communications teams to develop and implement communication plans.
Training and Development
  • Train and assist other team members on recruitment and admissions systems and processes.
Requirements
  1. A university degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Commerce, or Marketing.
  2. At least three years of experience in marketing/communication and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  3. At least one year of experience in university admissions, recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with strong intercultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills.
  6. Strong leadership and teamwork skills in a fast-paced work environment.
  7. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. Proficiency in Student Information Systems (SIS) and Microsoft Office.
  9. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
  10. Experience in project management to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  11. A valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
