Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our IT team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements and system processing implications from our Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business partners to elicit requirements using interviews, documentation analysis, and workshops.
  • Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, and workflow diagrams.
  • Facilitate project meetings with business and technology teams.
  • Coordinate efforts to gather requirements for multiple initiatives.
  • Work with geographically dispersed teams, including architects, business analysts, developers, and testers.
  • Provide status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues/risks.
  • Engage in testing plans, document, and triage issues.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 years' experience in Business Systems Analyst capacity, supporting multiple projects.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience working in Insurance domain.
  • Experience in Commercial Insurance domain and ISO admitted lines is a plus.
  • Experience working with Insurance policy platforms, relational databases, XML files, data analysis, and SQL scripting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on style with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to changing environment and strong customer service orientation.
