Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Early Childhood Educator and Program Coordinator to join our team at Pladec Day Care Centre. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our child-care programs, ensuring the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in their care. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing child-care programs, supervising staff and volunteers, and establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Establish guidelines for behaviour
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range is based on industry standards and market research in the Toronto area.
