The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Labourer to join our Parks and Recreation team in the City of Red Deer. As a Labourer, you will play a vital role in maintaining our parks and green spaces, ensuring they remain safe and enjoyable for our community.

About the Role:

As a Labourer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting with wildfire mitigation and urban forestry operations
  • Operating small, motorized equipment and driving small trucks as required
  • Performing horticultural tasks, such as pruning and planting

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade 8 or equivalent
  • At least six months' experience in a related field, such as forestry or urban tree care
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to exert frequent physical effort and work in fatiguing positions
