About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our team at the City of Whitehorse. As a Finance Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of financial tasks, including preparing general ledgers, journal entries, and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions: Prepare and process financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial matters.
  • Financial Systems: Maintain and update financial systems, including accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in Business Administration and Management, General or Accounting and Finance.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a financial role.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
