About the Role

Leon's Furniture is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Manager in Training. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain open communication with all departments within the store
  • Develop a strong presence on the floor, being available and approachable, and supporting our team of associates
  • Team development, creating an environment of teamwork, support, and collaboration
  • Liaise with the home office to share feedback and access information, ensuring associates and managers have access to the information they need to perform their jobs effectively
  • Training and people development, building a talent pool of future managers
  • Recruitment, conducting interviews, hiring, and onboarding, ensuring a positive and successful orientation process for new associates
  • Resolve customer issues and provide a positive and seamless service experience
  • Manage daily store operations, ensuring company policies and procedures are met
  • Prepare for and conduct effective and engaging meetings
  • Support the General Manager and other department managers
  • Act as Duty Manager, responsible for opening/closing the store, addressing high-level issues, and providing on-site support to associates and customers
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of promotions and events
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Manage the flow of merchandise throughout the store, bringing in new products, and clearing out discontinued merchandise
  • Manage merchandise that is not available for sale, addressing product concerns with vendors and buyers
  • Ensure the general safety and security of the store, associates, and customers
  • Other duties as assigned
