About the Role

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is a leading firm in the field of geotechnical engineering, with a strong presence in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team as a Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and project managers, to deliver complex projects.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical design solutions for roads, bridges, dams, buildings, tunneling, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and scientists, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and excellence in all projects.
  • Participate in business development activities, identifying new opportunities and building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on project management and leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in geotechnical design, including experience with software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Settle3D, FLAC, PLAXIS, or similar.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Canada, with the ability to become a Registered Professional Engineer with PEO.
