Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Risk Management: Develop and implement strategies to reduce risk and ensure compliance with privacy, employment, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Contract Management: Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with clients and vendors, ensuring they meet the company's needs and legal standards.
- Strategic Legal Advice: Provide legal guidance to support business decisions, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Privacy and Compliance: Act as the company's Privacy Officer, reviewing and implementing policies to ensure adherence with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training materials to educate team members on regulatory obligations, legal requirements, and risk management controls.
- Qualifications: Member in good standing of a provincial Bar in Canada, preferably in Alberta, with a minimum of 4 years of corporate legal experience.
- Experience: Proven track record of managing third-party contracts, drafting and negotiating amendments, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
- Skills: Strong legal document and contract writing, reviewing, and editing skills, with excellent problem-solving and research abilities.
