Job Title: Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist to join our team at Southwood Trucking Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Requirements:

  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Flexibility
  • Judgement
  • Organized
  • Reliability
  • Team player

Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions and will be required to work independently with minimal supervision.
