Job Title: Compliance Technologist

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Electric Operations Technology (OT) Information Technology (IT) environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth function of business operations as it pertains to the BCUC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned duties to the OT/IT environment, providing first-level technical support, system administration, and system development.
  • Monitor the overall integrity of FortisBC's OT/IT environment and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), analyzing data, researching discrepancies, and developing solutions.
  • Assist in the development, modification, and maintenance of software, maintaining a current knowledge of new developments in computer technology, information technology, and cybersecurity.
  • Participate in regular internal and external audits, recording, storing, retrieving, and ensuring accuracy of appropriate evidence from compliance systems.
  • Manage assigned compliance tasks to meet hard deadlines, contributing to maturing the compliance program from a process, documentation, and technical perspective.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a two-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge in programming/scripting and/or database query languages.
  • Solid interpersonal and customer service skills, analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring the delivery of high-quality accurate and reliable data in a high-pressure environment.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to multi-task deadline-driven tasks.
  • Solid ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Basic conceptual knowledge of enterprise security concepts, including Security & Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communication & Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment & Testing, Security Operations, Software Development Security, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License.
