Research Program Manager

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Research Program Development and Administration to join our team. This is a full-time position for a one-year maternity leave replacement.
About the RoleThe Manager, Research Program Development and Administration will be responsible for the planning and implementation of daily network activities and the ongoing management of the overall program. This includes monitoring project progress, preparing financial and progress reports, budgeting, knowledge mobilization, and internal and external communication.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor project progress and maintain effective communication with committee and working group leads, research teams, and staff.
- Prepare progress, financial, and budgetary reports, as well as presentations and other official network documents.
- Supervise the allocation of funds, prepare inter-institutional transfer agreements, and ensure financial monitoring.
- Initiate and facilitate the start of projects, including organizing meetings, carrying out follow-ups, and preparing required documentation and tools.
- Support the governance structure of the Network, including planning, organizing, and monitoring meetings of various committees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for collaborators and members, resolving issues, providing support, and identifying opportunities.
- Develop recommendations and action plans to resolve issues affecting the achievement of Network objectives in collaboration with Co-Directors.
- Support the Network's hepatitis C knowledge mobilization and awareness strategy by working with stakeholders to organize related activities and initiatives.
- Draft written communications, support letters, emails, and newsletters for network members and external stakeholders.
- Degree in life sciences or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience in an academic research environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at different stages.
- Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments and ability to interact, engage, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly synthesize complex information, recommendations, and summaries.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and implement new initiatives in support of the Network's goals and objectives.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and reliably, prioritize workloads, and be productive in a remote environment.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, is necessary for this position, and some proficiency in French is strongly desired.
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Zoom, and Website CMS.
- One trip per year will be necessary to attend national research meetings.
- Prior knowledge of the infectious diseases field would be a major asset.
