Nurse Practitioner

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to assess, educate, and support patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing patient needs and responding to emergencies with confidence and poise.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, using active listening skills and clear, concise language.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date on the latest clinical practices and research.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
- Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS).
- 2 years Emergency, Critical Care or Telemetry nursing experience or 3 years Medical and Surgical nursing experience, preferred.
- IV initiation, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiogram interpretation skills, preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Paediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core, and Paediatric Course, preferred.
- Critical Care or Emergency Certificate, preferred.
- Experience in Pediatrics, Mental Health, preferred.
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.
As a Registered Nurse at North York General Hospital, you will enjoy a highly competitive total compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan. This is a Part-Time Regular position with required 12 hour shifts, days and night shifts, including weekends in the Emergency department.
