About the Role

Candu Energy Inc., an AtkinsRéalis company, has partnered with Nuclearelectrica S.A. to provide engineering, technology, and procurement services for the life extension of SNN's Unit 1 CANDU reactor at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant in Romania.

As the exclusive licensee of the Canadian-owned CANDU intellectual property portfolio, AtkinsRéalis is the leading organization in CANDU reactor life extension projects globally.

This project opportunity is to support the Manufacturing team, which completes assessments, assembly, and testing of our CANDU6 Retube tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
  • Assembly, repairing, and maintaining of nuclear inspection and mockup equipment.
  • Participate in equipment testing programs.
  • Prepare route sheets and edit documents.
  • Complete prioritized work requests on time.
  • Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW).
  • Be willing to travel to vendor and project sites if required.
  • Maintenance of contaminated nuclear tooling and refurbishment activities

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical technology or relevant technical experience.
  • Working experience between 2 and 4 years in mechanical assembly / testing / repair of nuclear inspection tooling and shop equipment.
  • Competency with hands-on tooling skills, and trade qualifications are recommended.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Word / Excel / Teams / Visio / SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with nuclear standards an asset
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate manual skills and dexterity
  • Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
  • Acts with initiative and works within the team
  • Have a working knowledge of industrial shop practices.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience an asset
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, Swagelok training an asset.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and RP work when needed.
