About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at EllisDon. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in leading a team through the bid process, building strong relationships with sub-trades, and assembling accurate and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team through the bid process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of estimates
  • Assemble and organize estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build
  • Coordinate with sub-trades, re-writing binders and assisting with the buy-out process
  • Monitor project success, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference

Requirements

  • Construction-related degree or diploma and 5-7 years of estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team
