RPG Programmer

We are seeking a skilled RPG Programmer to join our team at IT Unlock Company. As an RPG Programmer, you will be responsible for modernizing existing applications using RPG IV, RPGLE, and DDS programming languages.
Job Description:The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG programming, with experience in large-scale RPG modernization projects. You will work closely with our team to implement and adapt current applications for integration and/or new features.
Responsibilities:- Represent our client in a positive manner in all aspects of the position.
- Ability to take business processing issues and automate them through technology.
- Understand functionality and identify and write specifications to change or enhance program or system.
- Estimate programming effort involved based on program specifications.
- Development of test plan, create and coordinate user testing.
- Establish documentation requirements and promote strict adherence.
- Identify, analyze, and confirm problems and their causes and provide solutions.
- Write complex batch and inquiry/maintenance programs using RPGIV, RPGLE, DDS, and CL Programming.
- Effectively produces and communicates status reports to project manager.
- Sound knowledge of platform utilities.
- Knowledge of the JD Edwards operating system and familiarity with basic data communication terminology and communication functions.
- Strong RPG programming coding techniques and database techniques.
- Great oral and written communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow clients standards.
- Strong sense of ethics.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Team player who conveys a positive and receptive attitude.
- Ability to work independently while focusing on project details, timely project delivery, and quality.
- Resilient and adaptable to a client work environment.
