Job Title: Tile Setter

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Alberta Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered, mixing and applying adhesives, and aligning and straightening tiles.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
  • Mix and apply adhesives using a hand trowel
  • Align and straighten tiles
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervise other workers
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a dusty and noisy environment
  • Ability to work in various locations
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Ability to work in a team environment
