Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Railway Systems Project Coordinator to join our team at Hitachi Rail in Toronto, ON.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project managers in coordinating various engineering tasks, from administrative to strategic, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
  • Lead work packet Project Monitoring and Control activities, including maintaining schedules, tracking progress, and identifying potential risks.
  • Prioritize and monitor engineering status, executing tasks within functional areas, such as engineering and engineering support activities.
  • Facilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers, ensuring optimal overall project technical solution.
  • Ensure project objectives are communicated effectively to the project team and align technical project activities with the project schedule.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a project engineer or lead systems/design engineer for engineering system applications.
  • Prior experience with basic project management, including maintaining budgets, monitoring schedules, and managing risk registers.
  • Extensive understanding and/or prior experience with engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle.
  • Strong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools.
  • Prior experience managing medium-large sized projects and project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience.
  • Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time.
  • Built effective relationships and have exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills.
