About the Role
This permanent position is approximately 35 to 40 hours per week. You will work closely with early childhood educators to develop and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. Your tasks will include preparing snacks, arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Responsibilities
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
• Maintain daycare equipment
• Storytelling
• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
• Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
• Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Basic security clearance
• Criminal record check
• Child Abuse Registry check
• Public transportation available
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
The position requires a physically demanding individual who can sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and perform manual dexterity tasks. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
Personal Suitability
We are looking for someone who is punctual, dependable, and a team player with efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgment, reliability, and values and ethics. Creativity and experience are assets but not required.

St. Albert Montessori School Ltd. offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as dental and healthcare plans.
