Role Overview

Arcadis Canada is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Lead to drive business growth and lead our expanding geotechnical team across the country. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of establishing and maintaining client relationships, with a strong ability to lead and motivate team members.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Geotechnical Lead will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the geotechnical business strategy, including budgeting and resource management
  • Managing project financials and maintaining communication with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Providing geotechnical support for environmental site remediation, temporary shoring designs, tailings facilities, spillways, and earth dam safety assessments
  • Reviewing reports prepared by the geotechnical team before client submission
  • Offering technical direction and mentoring to intermediate and junior staff
  • Preparing proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Leading business development activities to secure new projects

Requirements

The successful candidate will require:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in geotechnical or a related engineering field
  • Current P.Eng. designation in Ontario
  • 15+ years of experience in geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering fields, subsurface investigations, foundation/shoring recommendations, earth structure design, and/or construction supervision

Specialized Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have expertise in:

  • Oil and Gas Sector, Mining Sector, waste management, Rail, Transit, and Pavement Design
  • Landfill and tailings dam design
  • Deep foundations design and installation
  • Environmental contaminant investigation and soil management plans
  • Northern/Arctic engineering and experience with First Nations
  • Proficiency in current geotechnical/hydrogeological software
  • Experience in inspection, testing, vibration analysis, and building condition evaluations
  • Mine waste management and remote site borrow searches
