Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the medical clinic based in CFB Gagetown, near Oromocto, NB.

This role presents a fulfilling opportunity to positively impact the lives of dedicated individuals who serve our nation and ensure our safety.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population, including differential diagnosis.
  2. Provide professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psycho-physiological, and behavior disorders with an adult population.
  3. Administer diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpret results, and prepare psychological evaluations.
  4. Report results and interpretations to the multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Provide treatment for mental health conditions using evidence-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma processing therapies.
  6. Participate in case reviews as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team.
  7. Develop, instruct, and counsel patients during sessions for specific mental illnesses.
  8. Assist in identifying, developing, and evolving mental health programming.
Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited University by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association.
  2. Registered as a Psychologist and authorized for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body.
  3. Minimum 2 years of full-time, post-graduate experience under a license for autonomous practice, completing psycho-diagnostic assessments and providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma processing therapy for adults.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
