Job Title: Physiotherapy Helper

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physiotherapy Helper to join our team at St. Catharines PhysioHeal & Massage. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Job Summary:

The Physiotherapy Helper will assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of physiotherapy services to patients with various injuries or disabilities. This includes carrying out treatment programs, developing information materials, and following through on treatment plans with patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of physiotherapy services
  • Carry out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment plans with patients
  • Help medical examiners and physical therapists as needed
  • Set up and dismantle equipment
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Lay out surgical instruments
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Reassemble equipment and assemble packs of sterile supplies and instruments
  • Record vital signs
  • Assist chiropractors with patient health education
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation
  • Maintain inventory of equipment
  • Document patient rehabilitation progress
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
Work Setting:
  • Hospital/medical facility or clinic
Computer and Technology Knowledge:
  • MS Excel
  • MS Office
  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS Word
