Family Medicine Physician

This exciting new opportunity is available for a Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority in Dartmouth North. As a key member of our primary care team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for examining patients, taking their histories, ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, and advising patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention. You will also have the opportunity to participate in continuous quality improvement as a member of our team.
Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult with other medical practitioners as needed
- Act as a patient's advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
This is a full-time opportunity with regular working hours.
QualificationsThe successful candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. A strong understanding of collaborative care and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care are essential.
