We are seeking a Public Policy Specialist to join our team at GS1 Canada.

About the Job

This role requires a strong problem-solver with analytical skills to support our strategic regulatory and public affairs initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality materials, presenting findings to internal and external audiences, and establishing formalized processes to educate internal teams on current and emerging regulations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain communication materials to support strategies, policy initiatives, and external engagement;
  • Analyze data to generate insights and plan future communications;
  • Build a network of regulatory peers and maintain consistency in communication materials for government engagement;
  • Manage tools and repositories to ensure organized resources for external relations and public policy activities;
Requirements
  • 10-12 years of experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, or related fields;
  • Undergraduate degree in regulatory affairs, political science, public policy, or equal (advanced education is an asset);
  • Expertise in understanding government policies and regulations and communicating potential impacts and opportunities;
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks and policies at federal, provincial, and municipal levels;
  • Excellent research, communication, and project management skills;
