Job Title: French Language Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced French Language Educator to join our team at THE CATHOLIC INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS OF NELSON DIOCESE.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French language and culture to students in a private school setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in second language education and be able to develop and implement engaging lesson plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French language and culture to students in a private school setting
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Participate in educational conferences and teacher training workshops
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Assign and correct homework
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops and symposia
  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
  • Prepare, administer and correct tests
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations and laboratory, shop and field studies
  • Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in French language or education
  • Experience in teaching French language and culture to students in a private school setting
  • Strong background in second language education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
