At DoorDash, we're revolutionizing the way people think about logistics and delivery. As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining our large-scale, 24x7 global infrastructure system that powers our 3-sided marketplace of Consumers, Merchants, and Dashers.

This is a hybrid role with some in-office time expected, and you'll report to an Engineering Manager. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing and releasing large-scale web applications to improving performance, reliability, scalability, and security for our backend systems.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical roadmaps
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the growth and development of our engineering team
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
What We're Looking For
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with backend technologies and frameworks
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
