Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Practitioner to join our team at the Nanaimo Correctional Centre. As a Family Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing primary health care services to clients in correctional centres, including mental health and substance use support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality primary health care services to clients in correctional centres
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address mental health and substance use issues
  • Conduct regular health assessments and provide health education to clients

Requirements

  • Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory
  • Experience in working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties
