About the Role:

The Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University is seeking a highly skilled Student Counselor to provide academic advising and student services support to undergraduate students. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.

As a Student Counselor, you will work closely with undergraduate student services colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate program procedures and services that meet the needs of students in areas such as academic, student life and activities, career development, and special populations.

You will be responsible for providing guidance to prospective and current students, including academic, personal, and career advisement and advice. You will also be involved in developing special projects, activities, and content for electronic communication and recruitment publications.

This role requires excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as advanced knowledge of word processing, database software, Microsoft Access and Excel, Internet, and Email. Experience in student services/academic advising in higher education is preferred, but not required.
