Child and Youth Worker

At Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to children and youth in need.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, coordinate, and participate in cultural, recreational, and social programming for children and youth.
- Provide case management and support to youth in need of individual assistance, including crisis intervention, dispute resolution, and other supportive interventions.
- Monitor youth progress and cultural needs, providing information, referrals, and follow-up services as needed.
- Develop and implement life skills support and goal planning, including educational and job readiness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, providing written reports as requested.
- Child and Youth Diploma, Social Services Diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years' experience working in a social services context, preferably with Indigenous families.
- Sound understanding of harm reduction, addictions, mental health, Indigenous healing practices, and history, developmental issues, and high-risk situations faced by children and/or youth.
- Ability to work collaboratively, elicit cooperation from others, and prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent intake assessment, crisis intervention, and advocacy skills.
- Valid 'G' Ontario Driver's license, willingness to travel, and ability to work flexible hours.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
