The Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University is recruiting for a full-time psychiatrist to provide forensic psychiatric care in the Central Zone, East Coast Forensic Hospital (ECFH) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide pharmacological and psychosocial treatment interventions to patients within the hospital's services and units. This includes Court Assessments, rehabilitation programs, acute and long-term psychiatric treatment, and correction psychiatry.

You will also provide psychiatric care to persons in custody within Correction Health Services, act as consultant and leader of a multi-disciplinary team, and take part in a psychiatry on-call schedule as required.

In addition to clinical duties, you will be responsible for didactic teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education level, as well as research and scholarly innovation.

To be successful in this role, you must be certified in Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or equivalent, with preference given to those with forensic subspecialty training and experience in forensic psychiatry.

This is a highly competitive opportunity with a salary range of $300,000 - $400,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
