About the Role
Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced and motivated environmental consultant to be based in Whitehorse, YT or one of our other Canadian offices.
The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, overseeing, and implementing large-scale, multi-year environmental monitoring programs for mining sites across Canada's North. This is a cross-disciplinary role that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Design complex environmental monitoring programs for mine sites throughout Canada in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Build strong relationships with local client representatives and oversee the implementation of the program with careful attention to budgets and scopes.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to a team of enthusiastic junior field colleagues to keep them safe and focused on efficient, high-quality execution.
- Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates in accordance with ERM's policies and processes.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in biology, aquatic sciences, geochemistry or related disciplines.
- Registered Professional Biologist (or equivalent), or a willingness to pursue an appropriate professional certification.
- 5+ years of direct environmental consulting experience as part of 10+ years of total experience (including graduate school and entry-level roles in industry).
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health & Safety procedures.
