We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist I to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical ventilation support.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics, in accordance with established departmental standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic strategies, and program-related issues.
- Monitor and perform required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards.
- Provide in-service education as required.
- Participate in meetings and departmental committees, contributing to problem identification and resolution.
- Support Respiratory Therapy student education and various inservices for staff and the community as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
